Open call for young people (aged 18–21) living in the Netherlands

In December 2026, the Solidara Foundation will take a group of 5 young people on a train journey. This trip is part of the Erasmus+ project "Solidarity Lines: Local Roots, European Routes" (DiscoverEU). All travel and accommodation costs are covered by the project.

The trip

  • 10 days, tentatively scheduled for December 8–17, 2026
  • Route: Workum – Amsterdam – Bruges – Lille – Brussels – Workum, traveling entirely by train
  • You will help plan the daily itinerary, accommodation, and safety arrangements

  • You are between 18 and 21 years old on the trip's start date
  • You reside legally in the Netherlands
  • You are eager to explore and learn together

Do you require any support, for example regarding accessibility or health? Please let us know whenever you feel comfortable doing so; all information will be handled confidentially.

What do we ask of you?

  • Participation in two preparatory meetings: one in-person (tentatively Tuesday, November 24) and one online (tentatively Thursday, December 3), plus a short personal conversation.
  • You will travel with the group for the entire duration and attend a follow-up/reflection session in January
  • You will be eligible to receive a "Youthpass"
  • You must have a valid ID or passport.
  • You do not need to speak French or English. We will practice useful phrases together. It will be fun!
